Thoughts on the Gremlin f2 loader

Other titles found to use this loader: Pool, Snooker, and West Bank – all supported in TC without modifications.

The loader itself must have looked very smart to its coder(s) for there’s a lot of encryption involved. They could not possibly imagine that one day it would have been easy to dump a tape of theirs, feed it into TAPClean and get a single precious decrypted PRG file – the whole game – out of it, along with the boot address.

As example, for Snooker TC gives us a PRG file that loads at $1F00-$53FE and the following info: Execution address: $53C0 (SYS 21440).

Makes me wonder how effective the current electronic security is going to be in a decade or two.
