Last Ninja 3 Easter Egg

I just verified that on the Commodore 64 (tape version) of Last Ninja 3 there is an Easter Egg 🙂

You can skip to next level by doing the following movements with your joystick (make sure you start in a position where you are free to move when doing each step, i.e. not too close to obstacles/boundaries):

left, down, right, fire, down, right, up, fire, up, right, down, fire, right, down, up, right, fire

The message “CHEATS SELDOM PROSPER” will appear, the Bushido power will boost to its maximum and Armakuni will jump straight to the next level, where he will also have a few weapons in his inventory 🙂

As I could not see any trace of this cheat documented anywhere, I will claim paternity of the first publishing 🙂

Even after 26 years the Last Ninja hasn’t revealed all of his secrets, cool! Excellent work you’re doing with the integrator!

  2. Didi says:

Today I´ve started in WinVice a cartridge-file named “The_Last_Ninja_3_(Easy_Flash).crt” (file-date 2011-04-25), that I´ve downloaded somewhere from the Internet long time ago.
The first screen says “…cracked, trained, docs typed,…by John64 30-04-2011”.
If you start the game by pressing “F1”, it says “the game has a built-in level skip cheat…” and reveals the same joystick-sequence, as you mentioned above.
Looks like “John64” has paternity for “publishing” that cheat-code, but don´t worry, because any contribution to the last ninja world makes the story going on and on!
